I’m a lawyer who advises on when things go wrong at work.

The matters could be about termination of employment, investigations and handling allegations of misconduct, employee and union disputes, safety incidents or monetary claims. If there is a tricky HR issue that you’re grappling with, I know how to manage it.

Most of my work relates to business and government in the SA and the NT, but I advise clients from across Australia and those coming to do business in Australia.

I usually act for employers and organisations, but I do act for individuals also, with a reputation in giving practical advice to executives and managers to negotiate their exits from deteriorating work situations.

“I give most of my advice at the earliest stage of these problems – before things go to court.”

I have particular expertise in responding rapidly to uncertain risk situations, including safety incidents and fatalities, unprotected industrial action and instances of serious misconduct, bullying and workplace fraud.

I also assist clients to manage broader risks with respect to corporate and social responsibility obligations and upstream customer expectations.

I’m a Senior Associate motivated to help clients achieve the best outcomes no matter what the situation.

My diverse background working across all areas of the employment relationship as well as for clients from a variety of backgrounds and industries leaves me well placed to understand the nuances within this unique area of law. Bringing with me a variety experience from acting for both employer and employee clients, I understand employment law from all perspectives.

Utilising these experiences, I ensure that my clients receive the right advice for them. My advice is provided through a practical and pragmatic lens; I understand most clients wish to avoid lengthy or litigious disputes, and I allow that to guide my approach.

With this in mind, I have experience in assisting clients to implement best-practices within their workplace, which have pre-empted and avoided future issues, and am experienced in quickly and effectively resolving problems as they arise so as to prevent disputes or litigation.

Equally, I understand that sometimes litigation is unavoidable, and my varied experience representing clients in relation to matters in the Fair Work Commission, South Australian Employment Tribunal, and State and Federal Courts leaves me well-placed to navigate this process as effectively and cost efficiently as possible.

Whatever employment-related issues you face, I’m here to help you navigate through.
